Burnt Food On Valencia Tonight

6 (six) fire trucks came out for this event. Nobody ate anything. No injuries. I did hear some helpful tips, though. I’m summarizing them below.
Please be careful when you’re cooking your food. If you burn it, there could be trouble.

A neighbor in my building recently had to call the fire department because smoke was pouring out of the neighboring house’s window. The side of our building is a mere 5 feet reach from theirs.
We’re at 19th and Shotwell and could throw a rock and hit the fire house (and its fun training building).
Still, 5 fire trucks arrived (not all from the station across the street) along with the marshal in his truck.
A couple firepeople ran up and luckily it was only a kitchen fire that had managed to put itself out.
Why the massive response to a smoldering curtain?
Because of that 5 foot reach and the quaintness of our buildings. Supposedly because the homes in our neighborhood are old and close together, the likelihood of them going up like a pile of dry sticks is pretty high. So it is common practice to respond as if its a 4 or 5 alarm if the call is from certain part of the city.
Just burnt food for though.
