Old Boats

Whoa, the Hyde Street Pier looks pretty fun. Free entry, old boats, epic city views, respite from the shitshow that is the rest of the waterfront (because tourists don’t seem to care about historical maritime stuff so much I guess?). Let’s go!

They were pretty cool. It costs $5 to go aboard the boats but that’s a pretty good deal ($5 for all of them).

If you rsvp, you can get aboard the Balcutha for free on Sea Chanty night.

I walk down there all the time from my place on Larkin, sweet view of the city and both bridges. It is a little dirty but thats keeps all the tourists away.

I’ve thought for some time that the old ferry there would be a perfect spot for a coffee shop. So much space, and it HAS the coffee shop/lunch counter area from when it was a ferry, etc. Just put in some new equipment, plumb it up, stick in some wi-fi and you have a work-from-home spot with the best view in the city.
