For a little while, there were performances in the middle of Dolores St. Oddly enough, this did not appear to bother the police.As soon as they tried to setup in the park, the police tried to shut it down. Luckily they were able to get permission to use the movie night's permit and eventually played.This is the power-generating setup they used. 5 bikes in total; the three far bikes were all connected to the same unit.After everyone confused this object with a bong, it was revealed to be the power meter. There was a fan at the bottom of the tube whose speed was regulated by the power being generated by the cyclists. As they pedaled, an empty beer can would move up and down the tube--into the red if they were pedaling too much and into the orange if they were not pedaling enough.
I never did figure out if this was a cello case or a coffin...
i think a bunch of these folks rolled down capp last night i guess around …9pm?

it was fun to see – woke the kid up to peep out the window…bikes & lights & music yay! – it was a good moment for extemporaneous pajama dancing with my 5 year old…and so represents some of what’s great about the hood.
they were chanting “we’re riding bikes and we got something to prove” or somesuch.
Wow, looks like a lot of people participated. And I wish they had painted that coffin-looking custom-made stand-up bass case, that would’ve been nice to see.;p

for Saturday. The cops keep them out off Rec and Park property all day. Not till they negotiated with, it sounds like the Movie Night in the Park guys, did they catch a break. Was anyone else there?
Does anyone know if The Derailleurs got to dance? When we did the Cougar Run we got popped by the cops at Jose Coronado for not having a permit (15 people or more). They only got to do one song because we pleaded.
